The COLDPLASMATECH GmbH spun off from the renowned Leibniz Institute for Plasma Research and Technology in June 2015. Since November 2015, it has been in the approval process for its pioneering medical device (PlasmaPatch and PlasmaCube). Following approval in 2016, this StartUp launched the world’s first full-scale application of cold plasma for the treatment of chronic wounds and wound infections – an active wound dressing. With its potentially disruptive product and business approach, the team behind COLDPLASMATECH has won several innovation, entrepreneurship, technology and enterprise awards. The young company, with its socially relevant technology, emerged from an EXIST research transfer (BMWi) and is based on years of plasma medical research, including the Campus Plasmamed (BMBF). With partners and supporters such as WACKER Chemie, DELL and numerous players in the healthcare industry, this young company is at the forefront of current plasma medicine.
